Biffen Nordkraft handpicks films from all over the world, with a focus on European films. Since 1989 we have specialised in small film gems that deserve a big audience. Biffen is Aalborg's only independent cinema and is part of Europa Cinemas, the European network of art cinemas. In our three screens we show new releases, classics and film gems that don't always find their way to the traditional cinemas.

Biffen is part of Aalborg's cultural centre, Nordkraft, where music and theatre, art and cafés, fitness and festivals fill the building. Together we have created a dynamic and diverse cultural power station, with room for both niche and broad audiences. Even though we are part of a big building, we value a cosy atmosphere. We offer big film experiences as well as small, intimate moments, and you don't have to see a film to visit our cinema café.

Café and refreshments
In Biffen's café you can have a cup of coffee, hot chocolate or a latte, a beer, a glass of wine, a cookie or something else nice. You can buy sweets, nuts, chocolate and whatever else you fancy, and all treats and drinks can be taken into the screening rooms. After the film, you can settle into the sofas or out on our balcony on the first floor and talk about what you've seen. On the first floor you'll also find Biffen's collection of film books, magazines and photos for curious cinemagoers.

Accessibility
All three screens are accessible to wheelchair users and people with limited mobility. There is also a hearing loop in all screens.

Café Biografen: Odense's art house cinema

Run by volunteers with a passion for film and culture, Café Slotsbio is Hillerød's oldest cinema. Their dedication to giving every guest a memorable evening is clear from the moment you arrive.

At Café Slotsbio there is tradition in the walls, but nothing dusty about the programme. On a regular evening, two films are shown, and there are also afternoon screenings and children's screenings on selected days. The programme is a mix of the latest releases and genuine art house, a bit like Grand Teatret in Copenhagen, only with North Zealand outside the door.

As an art house cinema, we show a wide selection of current quality films, international award winners, Danish films and exciting film gems that often aren't shown in the big cinema chains. For film lovers, Slotsbio is a natural meeting place when you want to experience films with depth, perspective and quality.

Café and refreshments
At Café Slotsbio you can enjoy a glass of bubbly with your film without having to balance the glass on your knee. The cosy café has a large selection of hot and cold drinks, and you can take it all into the screening room, where there are tables for the glasses and cups. You can also buy sweets, crisps, popcorn and luxury flødeboller (chocolate-covered marshmallow treats).

Accessibility
Café Slotsbio has a wheelchair-friendly entrance and a wheelchair-friendly toilet.

Hillerød's cosiest cinema and cultural venue

Empire Bio is Nørrebro's very own cinema, always showing only the best films. It is centrally located in Copenhagen's cosiest neighbourhood and has 7 screens with anything from 25 to 227 seats.

The programme is carefully curated and embraces both the biggest Hollywood titles and European gems, all with quality as the common denominator.

If you take a stroll around the area, you'll find a rich street and café life. The buildings that house Empire Bio have a long and proud history that began more than 100 years ago. True cinema fans will nod in approval at Empire Bio's choice of luxury seats with double armrests, including cup holders, and plenty of legroom in every row (a full 1.20 metres). The back row in each of the four largest screens consists of "kissing rows" with double seats.

Café and refreshments
At Empire's kiosk you can find everything your heart desires in sweet and savoury snacks. They have everything from Fairtrade chocolate to pick-and-mix sweets, and they even have popcorn, which Politiken highlighted as the best in town in its big cinema awards. You can also choose from a wide selection of drinks, including craft beer, barista coffee and soft drinks.

Accessibility
Wheelchair users are more than welcome at Empire Bio. The cinema offers plenty of space and ease of movement, from our entrance area to both the lounge and the corridors on the first floor. Screens 1, 2 and 3 each have a wheelchair platform in the middle of the front row. Unfortunately, the wheelchair spaces cannot be booked online, so if you want to buy a ticket on our website, we encourage you to buy one of the seats next to the wheelchair space. Quality films from around the world
GLORIA shows quality films from around the world. What the films shown at GLORIA have in common is that they stay with the audience. They aren't films you forget as you leave the cinema, but films that linger long afterwards.

GLORIA's programme includes award-winning premieres from the big European film festivals. 75% of the films are non-Danish European films, but American films, as well as films from Asia and South America, among others, also find their way to GLORIA.
Through our programme, we aim to build a stronger base for good, niche films in Copenhagen. But you don't need to know a lot about film to enjoy going to GLORIA. GLORIA is for everyone who wants a good film experience.

Café and refreshments
GLORIA's café opens half an hour before the first screening of the day. In the café you can enjoy freshly brewed quality coffee from Caffè River, tea from Perch's or a cup of hot chocolate. If you prefer something refreshing, we offer a selection of craft beers, lovely Fritz sodas, and organic drinks and wine, which of course can also be enjoyed in the screening room.

You can also satisfy your sweet tooth with our special selection of sweets and snacks.

Accessibility
Unfortunately, GLORIA Biograf does not have wheelchair access or a hearing loop due to the layout of the building.

Grand Teatret

Award-winning cinema experience in the heart of Copenhagen

Hundested Kino is located in the middle of Strandvejen in Hundested, in a restored slaughterhouse. It's hard to miss: the big gable mural is the cinema's trademark and one of the town's most recognisable sights.

There has been a cinema in Hundested since the early 1930s, back then under the name Kino. It has since moved and closed, but today it has been reborn as the association Hundested Kino. Everyone who contributes is a volunteer enthusiast, passionate about the medium of film and about the cinema experience itself. You can feel it the moment you step inside.

The programme is broad: the biggest premieres, European art house gems, revivals of old classics and special formats such as opera and ballet screenings. The cinema is a strong gathering place, where the town's generations come together for a shared experience in the dark.

Café and refreshments
In the café you can buy both cold and hot drinks and a little something to go with your film. The café is also used for beer tastings.

Accessibility
Hundested Kino has good accessibility. There is a wheelchair-friendly entrance and a lift, so you can easily move between floors. In the auditorium there is a platform with reserved wheelchair spaces, and there is an accessible toilet. If you have a companion with a valid companion card, they get in for free.

Wheelchair spaces and companion tickets must be booked in advance.

Nicolai Biograf is housed in the historic Nicolai Complex in the heart of Kolding. The complex consists of five school buildings from 1856-1908, which today serve as a cultural centre. In the summer there is an open-air cinema in the old schoolyard, where you can also enjoy a coffee on the cinema's cosy terrace.

As an art house cinema, it shows a wide selection of artistic quality films from many different countries and language areas, supplemented by a mainstream programme that ranges from the latest premieres to family films and documentaries. So there is definitely something for both the cinephile and the family who want to go out and see a good film together.

Behind it all is the association Film6000, which a group of film- and culture-loving locals from Kolding founded in 1999. All the work is still carried out by volunteers, from PR and ticket sales to screening the films and organising events. The association's aim is to strengthen film culture and the art of film in central Kolding.

Café and refreshments
Our café offers drinks and snacks in cosy surroundings. You're also welcome to take a cup of coffee or a glass of wine into the screening room while you watch a film. The café opens one hour before the first afternoon screening and stays open until about half an hour after the last evening screening has started.

Accessibility
The cinema has designated spaces for wheelchair users in both screens and also has an accessible toilet.

Nicolai Biograf & Café

Versatile art cinema in historic surroundings in the heart of Kolding.

At Øst for Paradis, we love film. We handpick films from all over the world and show them in our atmospheric cinema in Aarhus. Because we can't help it.

We specialise in hidden gems that deserve a wider audience, regardless of whether they are in Finnish, Turkish or English. We leave mainstream releases to others, focusing instead on excellent films and distinctive experiences tailored to our audience.

The beautiful building dates from the 1860s and originally housed the Aarhus Craftsmen's Association. You can still find traces of the old days around the building, from wood carvings above the windows to the cinema's very first projector from 1978, which is on display in the foyer.

The cinema got the name Øst for Paradis because it is located on Paradisgade, because the first film to roll across the screen was Øst for Paradis (East of Eden), starring James Dean, and because one of the cinema's aims was to be open to films from all over the world, including Eastern Europe.

Café and refreshments
The cinema's café serves freshly brewed coffee specialities, wine and craft beer, all of which can be enjoyed in the screening rooms.

Accessibility
Øst for Paradis has a lift to all floors and designated wheelchair spaces in all screens. There is also a hearing loop in all screens.

Just steps from Frederikssund station, in a beautiful retro building from 1941, Parkteatret welcomes film lovers of all ages. Its varied, high-quality programme ranges from Biografklub Danmark titles and documentaries to independent art house films, offering audiences a window onto the diversity of cinema.

The beautiful auditorium has 141 seats in nine rows and hosts both film and performing arts, as Parkteatret is also Frederikssund Municipality's regional theatre. The programme includes niche and art films from all over the world. Parkteatret is recognised by the Danish Film Institute as one of the country's ten art house cinemas.

Café and refreshments
In Parkteatret's charming café you can buy drinks and snacks for the film, and you can also order food to go with a film by calling before 10 a.m. on the day you're coming to the cinema. The café is a warm meeting place for film and theatre lovers, and it is run by employees in sheltered employment. They make sure you get the best possible experience!

Accessibility
It is important to us that Parkteatret is accessible to everyone, and we are constantly working on creating better facilities for people with disabilities. In 2018 we installed a wheelchair ramp up to the auditorium and one inside it. If you need to sit in a wheelchair in the auditorium, please contact us in advance on tel.: 4738 3435. We will then remove a seat and make room for you.

Quality films and a charming café in a retro cinema in Frederikssund

Reprise Teatret is known for its sharp programming and very special interior, with gilt mouldings, old paintings and plush curtains. In the café you can sprawl out on dark red, ornate furniture, and in the auditorium the style continues with beautiful lamps, red velour and iconic film stills on the walls, bringing The Great Gatsby and Downton Abbey to mind.

A visit to "Reprisen" is like stepping into a time capsule, as Politiken wrote in its big cinema awards in 2025, where Reprise Teatret won "Best day trip":

"Stepping into 'Reprisen' is like jumping into a time machine à la 'Midnight in Paris'. Everything is old-school classy and cinephile at the same time. Here even a Tuesday evening feels like a gala premiere, and the auditorium is one of the most beautiful I have visited in Denmark.

The popcorn machine, the kind you last saw at a children's birthday party, stands in the middle of the foyer, and a bucket costs 20 kr., so there should still be enough left for the train ticket. The long auditorium is decorated with large chandeliers, plush curtains, gold trim and rows with both seats and sofas. You can't get much further from a shopping centre cinema." Politiken, 24 Feb 2025

Reprise Teatret has always been a very active venue and a cultural meeting place in the municipality, and the programme offers great variety in its selection of films, with quality as the common thread.

Another distinctive feature of Reprisen is that the programme is planned five weeks at a time, so you can get an overview and plan your visit well in advance. You can see the current programme on Reprisen's website.

Café and refreshments
Reprisen's café offers a large selection of sweet treats, biscuits, quality chocolate, and cold and hot drinks.

Accessibility
Reprise Teatret has easy access for wheelchair users in the first five rows of the auditorium. Wheelchair spaces can be had by reserving or buying a regular end seat in one of the first five rows. Please contact the cinema's staff on arrival for help getting into the auditorium and, if needed, for setting up a ramp, which also gives access to the foyer.

A cosy 100-year-old with films from all over the world and a very special interior

Vester Vov Vov is a cosy café cinema on Absalonsgade in Vesterbro, and it has been here since 1975. Back then, it was opened by a group of ten people from the neighbourhood. One of them still runs the cinema today. The cinema is named after the Danish silent film farce Vester-Vov-Vov from 1927, starring Fy and Bi, whose silhouettes you can see in the cinema's logo.

In the cinema's two screens, Red and Blue, you can see art house and independent films from all over the world. It's mainly European quality films, documentaries and American indie.

Vester Vov Vov is particularly known for its iconic interior and cosy atmosphere, and last year it was named "Best date cinema" in Politiken's big cinema guide:

"The little café cinema is a bit of a hidden gem, one of those places where you actually want to hang out both before and after the film. The café is its own little film universe, and the outdoor seating on the almost car-free cobbled stretch of Absalonsgade is some of the best in Vesterbro when the sun is out." Politiken, 24 Feb 2025

Café and refreshments
At Vester Vov Vov, you're welcome to take drinks into the screening room. The café has draught beer, wine, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. There's no popcorn, but there are sofas in the foyer and an almost 90-year-old 35mm projector that has stood there since the cinema opened. In the summer, you can also watch films outdoors on the lawn across the street.
